Homeopathy is a form of complementary healthcare which works with our body’s natural healing process and has been successfully used for over 200 years.
20-25% of all Europeans use homeopathic medicines, the most frequently used complementary medicine in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Italy and Switzerland. 200 million people world wide use Homeopathy. In 1999 The European Parliament called for Homeopathy to be integrated into medical practice and the EU also recommended that Homeopathy and Herbal Medicine be used as first line treatments in Veterinary Medicine.
There is a vast evidence base for the efficacy of Homeopathy:
Research shows that doctors who integrate Homeopathy into their practices do so with overall savings of 20% with no loss of clinical results. Because Homeopathy has no side-effects otherwise needing further treatment, the true savings are likely to be a lot more than 20%.
Homeopathy is a system of medicine developed by the German physician and scientist, Dr Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843). Homeopathic medicines are prescribed according to a natural law known as the Law of Similars; there is a specific remedy which is indicated according to the unique way in which the symptoms are experienced by the individual patient. Symptoms and remedy are matched on similarity, bringing about a healing response according to the Law of Similars, ‘Like Cures Like’.
The Homeopathic approach considers the body as intelligent and symptoms are its way of communicating the need for balance on a physical, mental or emotional level, which the remedy helps the body to restore.
